On the night of Wednesday, January 6, 2021, God decided it was time to call our Mother/Grandmother/Great-Grandmother, Thomasene, home to be with him. Her time on this earth had come to an end and her suffering would be no more.
Thomasene (Tommie) Thompson was born Friday, August 31, 1945 in Pensacola, Florida the only child of Joseph Jackson and Willie (Louise) Williams, both preceeding her in life. She and her mother moved to Cincinnati, Ohio when she was very young.
She attended Taft High School and graduated in 1964. After graduating high school she started work at Cincinnati Bell. She retired after 35 + years of service. She was blessed to have 2 daughters, Tamara (Tammy) 1965 and Marquise (Kee) 1967.
On January 29, 1972 she married Roy Lee Thompson, who preceeded her in death. From this union they had 1 daughter, DeShea.
She was a soft spoken, gentle women with a big heart and even bigger smile. She loved spending time with her kids/grandkids and, like her mother, she loved attending bingo halls. She was also an avid bowler.
She leaves to cherish her memory 3 daughters, Tamara Carmichael, Marquise Freeman and DeShea Thompson (Sean Davis); 8 grandchildren, Terrence Carmichael (Sumetra), Durrell Freeman (Kerstin), Ashley Freeman, Theresa Carmichael, Jasmaine Rehbaum (Steven), Sean Davis-Thompson (Catherine), Taylor Jones, and Jalen Davis-Thompson along with 16 great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
Funeral Ceremony will be at 11:00 am Saturday, January 16, 2021 with a visitation from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Northwest Chapel, 7830 Hamilton Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45231. Burial to follow at Spring Grove Cemetery.
