Tommie Kenneth Hayes Sr.

November 14, 1948 — September 16, 2021

Tommie Kenneth Hayes Sr. was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on November 14, 1948. He is the second born child of the late George C. and Quennie Hayes. He attended and graduated from Courter Technical High School in 1967.

After graduating high school, Tommie started working at General Motors where he worked for 30 plus years until he retired.

Tommie enjoyed his yearly visits to Leesville-Batesburg, SC where he attended the town's yearly celebration called the "Poultry Fest". This was an "unofficial family reunion" that always brought the town's people together for a weekend of fun.

Whenever Tommie was out and about in Cincinnati, he was always "clean" with his signature apple cap. He looked forward to attending his monthly retirees' breakfast at Golden Corral with his fellow retirees of GM.

Tommie leaves to cherish his memory: one son, Tommie K. Hayes Jr.; one grandson, Tommie K. Hayes III; one granddaughter, Dominique K. Hayes; one great-granddaughter, Zy'aire LaCue; two great-grandsons, Antonio and Legend Glover; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins, plus an abundance of friends.

The visitation for Tommie will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021, from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, Northwest Chapel, 7830 Hamilton Avenue, Mt. Healthy 45231.
