Vanessa Walker (Mother Walker) was born on March 20, 1955 to Jerry Roper and Beatrice Roper. At three months old Beatrice Roper passed away and Vanessa was given unto the care of Sallie Lou Roper.
Vanessa graduated from Withrow High School. On May 5, 1984 she was united in holy matrimony to Robin Walker. Vanessa was an employee of the Internal Revenue Service for over 8 years.
Vanessa was a member at Anointed Word Fellowship Church. She was the Church Secretary and Vice President of the Pastor's Aide Committee. Vanessa was known for her famous line, "It's Giving Time". She loved to praise dance.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jerry and Beatrice Roper, mother, Sallie Lou Roper, brothers, Jerry, Emmett and Albert Roper and cousin, Yvonne Washington.
Vanessa is survived by her husband, Robin Walker; her children, Tenico Roper, Sherry Roper, Brian Walker, La'Don Walker (baby boy) and stepson, Kevin Forte; grandmother, Tahj Roper and a host of many cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
