SHAFFERNOCKER (nee Tanner), Virginia "Giny" age 85 of Cincinnati, formerly of New Haven, Connecticut passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2013. She was born in New Haven, Connecticut on September 26, 1927 the daughter of the late Monroe J. and Hazel M. (Wedge) Tanner. Giny was married to the late Edward C. Shaffernocker.
She is survived by her son, David Shaffernocker and his wife Annie of Franklin, Tennessee; her daughter, Lori and her husband George Robbins of London, Ohio; five grandchildren, David Jr., Tara, Rachel, Cory and BreAnna; her brother, Addison Tanner; and other relatives and many friends.
Giny was a volunteer for many years. She was awarded the 38th Senior Citizen Hall of Fame 2005 award. Giny also served as a volunteer at several Cincinnati area hospitals, schools, library's and bingo. She also taught line dancing.
The family would like to invite everyone to join them for a luncheon at the Springdale Church of the Nazarene following the graveside services at Arlington Memorial Gardens.
