Waydene Jackson (Adams) was born June 17, 1944 in Elberton, Georgia to the late Velmon and Janie Mae Adams. The family moved to Cincinnati, Ohio where she attended Cutter Junior High School and graduated from Taft High School. She was employed as a Machine Operator at the Netherland Hotel and a seamstress at Saturday Ltd, Whiting and Fechheimer. She also worked in the concession stands at the Riverfront Coliseum and Stadium. She was a waitress at Frisch's in Roselawn and Central Parkway. She also worked at the Cincinnati Enquirer and Rem of Ohio as a Direct Care Provider for MRDD consumers. She was known for her contagious laugh and sassy responses. After fighting her toughest fight of her life, the Lord called her home on February 19, 2013. She left her earthly body peacefully in her sleep.
In her spare time, she loved to shop at her favorite store, Macy's, where she could tell you every sales person's name and what was on the sales and clearance racks. You could find her at the casino at the penny slots or on a secret trip to Atlantic City (cha ching). Maybe at the Shell station buying a scratch off (It's a winner or she may not be a winner, but she had lots of entries). She loved to make drapes on her many sewing machines (where did this come from)? Spending time with her family playing spades (and you better watch her, she might renig). She always made her Saturday trip to the Finlay Market.
She fell in love and married Virgil Jackson, Jr. (deceased) on November 15, 1972. She leaves behind six children, Anthony L. Jackson, Michelle Alexander (Curtis), Antoinette Jackson, Charlotte A. Jackson, Kimberly Y. Jackson, and Virgil Jackson, III. She also leaves behind two sisters, Carolyn Davis and Janie Johnson. Preceding her in death siblings, Curtis Adams (Catherine), Velmon Adams, Jr., Clarence Adams (Barbara), Royce Adams (Toni), Eugene Adams (Darie), and Ernestine Adams. She also leaves behind 13 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
