Willa Mae Caldwell was called home by her Heavenly Father on a sunny fall afternoon on September, 29, 2011 after a short battle with lung cancer. She was born Willie Mae Norris on March 14, 1941 to James Willie and Addie Eva (Baugh) Norris.
She was preceded in death by her mother, father, husband, and 6 siblings. Willa and her brother George moved to Covington, Kentucky after their mother died giving birth to her younger brother Edward.
At a young age Will met and fell in love with a tall young man from Newport, Kentucky named Ernest Caldwell. The two married and had 3 children, Tina, Robert, and Maria.
Willa loved being active and when the children were in school, she served as a room mother. Yes, she loved to bake cookies and cakes, but she was known best for her yeast rolls. Willa loved playing bingo, cards, and getting together with her friends to laugh and joke.
Willa was a member and Past Commandress of Aleikum Court (56) Daughter of Isis, Oasis of Covington, Desert of Kentucky; and also a member of the Eastern Star before she got ill. She loved helping people and taking care of others. She truly loved her children and grandchildren, with her greatest joy being her great-grandchildren.
Willa is survived by her children: Tina (Eddie) Jackson, Robert (Mary) Caldwell, Maria Caldwell. Sister-in-laws: Joan Hurry, and Polly Petty. Grandchildren: Alexis Caldwell, Kelvin Lovett, Rolanda Maia Underwood, Tina Peeks, Aaron Peeks, and Jason Peeks, of Cincinnati, Ohio.
