BISHOP, William Amster "Bo", age 75, died at his home in Dillsboro, Indiana on Friday, August 8, 2014, after an extended illness. He was born October 2, 1938, in Clay County, Kentucky to the late Fred Felty Bishop and Lillie Ursla Roberts Bishop, and was one of eight children.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Lowell Thomas Bishop; and two nephews. He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Collins Bishop; children, Fred W. Bishop (Melissa), Rodney W. Bishop (Veronica), Irona Bishop (Bob Siegler), Teri Spears, Carolyn Watson (Rick), and Bryan McAninch; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; six siblings; three aunts; many bothers/sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mr. Bishop graduated from Clay County High School and immediately joined the United States Air Force, receiving awards of outstanding conduct and service. After his tour in the Air Force, he began his career in management with the trucking/freight industry, working in offices in Cincinnati, Ohio and Lexington, Kentucky.
He was a member of the Dillsboro Church of Christ in Dillsboro, Indiana. In his younger years, he served as a deacon for the New Burlington Church of Christ in Mt. Healthy, Ohio. He is currently a Mason and past Master Mason of the McMakin Lodge #120, F & AM in Mt. Healthy, Ohio.
The family would like to thank all those who assisted and cared for Bo in the recent months of his illness, especially the Hospice employees and members of Rhonda's family.
