William "Bill"Richard Washington

William "Bill" Richard Washington was born on October 28, 1928 in Montgomery, Alabama. Bill worked in a variety of industries throughout his life, including construction and steelwork. His hands help build hospitals, offices, and schools throughout the Greater Cincinnati area; he retired from the steel industry. Bill enjoyed the outdoors, lifting weights, hunting, bike riding, and walking. He also loved taking his children fishing at several parks around the city. He was very active until the day he passed away.

Bill was a loving and caring father who put his children first. The love of his life, Dorothy Sims Higgs preceded him in death, as well as his son, Brian Keith Higgs. His children include Kimberly Ann Higgs, William (Taressa) Dennis Higgs, Donna Higgs Wynn, Sylvia (Jamie) Roper-Miller; Step-children are Charlene Sims Triggs, Jerome Sims, Michael Higgs, James Higgs, and Adam Higgs; step-niece Linda Sims Peterson; grandchildren, Todd (Kalisha) Higgs, Kandice (Almoctar) Roper-Issa, James Roper Jr., Taressa N. Higgs, Jessica Roper, Jarrell Roper, Jarryd Wynn, Natalie Wynn, Will Higgs, Whitney Higgs, Wesley Higgs; great-grandchildren include Promise Higgs, Juarle Slater III, Amina Issa, and Jarrell Sweeten.

A memorial service will be held at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 7830 Hamilton Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45231 on Friday, March 30, 2012 at 11:00 AM. A memorial visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
