William E. Buford Jr. age 64, of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away on Monday, July 3, 2023. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 26, 1958 to the late William E. and Mary Ann Buford (nee Anderson). William (Bill) was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Frank McCoy, Jr.
Bill attended Evanston Elementary School, Walter Peeples Middle School, and Withrow High School where he graduated in 1976. As a child, he developed a passion for cars. His interest in cars motivated him to attend the Nashville Auto-Diesel College in Tennessee where he graduated in 1979. His mechanical inclination and creative thinking surpassed just cars to include repairing all types of vehicles, building motors, as well as remodeling homes. His mechanical gifts led him to work at various auto/diesel companies in the tri-state area, for Buford Heating and Air Conditioning, and as an entrepreneur where he rehabilitated properties and repaired vehicles. Bill found joy in attending car and air shows, fishing, watching NBA basketball, and professional wrestling especially when Rick Flare was performing. His sense of humor could be heard in the stories he would tell or his quick snappy remarks that could cause a room to burst into laughter. Bill enjoyed listening to music by Parliament, Earth Wind and Fire, and especially Marvin Gaye's hit What's Going On?.
Despite his many interests, Bill was most passionate about passing on his gifts and talents to his son William Ford. One of his proudest moments was witnessing his son graduate from Toledo University. Bill shared his gifts with others he encountered. In remembrance of him, Bill would encourage us to continue his "Unfinished Business" of sharing talents and renewing connections with family and friends.
William leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife Pearllene Buford (nee Johnson), also by his children; William E. Ford, Jonathan Ford, Lee Johnson, his Sisters; Maria (Mitch) Buford, Gloria (Milton) White, Laura Buford; and his nieces and nephews; Christina Turnage, Maleika Buford, Dawnielle Crooks, Adam White, Frank McCoy III, Milton White IV, William White and a host of uncles, cousins, relatives and friends.
YOU MATTERED
We want you to know you mattered!
Did they name streets after you? – No, but you mattered!
Did you discover lifesaving medicines to cure all diseases? – No, but you mattered!
Did you invent the greatest invention of all times? – No, but you mattered!
Did you look into the future and discover the mysteries of the world? – No, but you mattered!
YOU mattered because you gave a handout to a homeless person and to that person, at that time, you mattered!
You mattered because you gave advice to a family member or friend just by saying
"Man I wouldn't do that" or by saying "listen I would do that this way" and that person took your advice, at that moment and at that time, you mattered!
We want you to know that your life mattered and it always will matter because you did not say "No" to taking on new challenges. You did not say "No" to
opening up your heart to new experiences, you did not say "No" to embracing life and flowing right along with it.
We want you to know that you mattered, you are loved, and your existence in this lifetime mattered.
You will always be remembered because you mattered.
With love from you family – Pearllene, William, Lee and Jonathan
