Obituary
William Irwin McMillan, age 81 of Finneytown passed away at his residence on Wednesday, February 1, 2012. He was born in Elizabethtown, Kentucky on March 16, 1930 the son of Charles and Grace (Evans) Schilling. William was a graduate of Walnut Hills High School and the University of Cincinnati. He served during the Korean Conflict with the United States Army, serving in the 1st Calvary Division. William was a member of the Mt. Healthy Eagles, Former Post Commander of the American Legion Post #513 Wesley Werner, and member of the VFW Mt. Healthy Post #7340. He retired from Proctor and Gamble after 36 years of service. William was also a member of the St. Stephen's Episcopal Church.
William was survived by a daughter, Hilary Hampton of Gilbert, Arizona; three sons, Kevin McMillan of Finneytown, Michael McMillan and his wife Kimberly of Williamsburg, Ohio, and Terry McMillan and his wife Kim of Colerain, Ohio; his loving companion for 27 years, Patsy Blankenship of Mt. Healthy; 8 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Donald Schilling; and his son-in-law, Michael Hampton.
Funeral service will be held at the St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 9191 Daly Road, Mt. Healthy on, Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 10 am with Father David Bailey officiating. Burial will follow at the Arlington Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 7830 Hamilton Avenue on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 from 5 pm to 8 pm. Donations may be directed to either the St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 9191 Daly Road, Cincinnati, OH 45231 or, to the Wounded Warriors Project at 4899 Belfort Road Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL. 32256. A gathering for family and friends will be held at the American Legion Post #513, 7947 Hamilton Avenue, Cincinnati, OH. 45231, on Wednesday following the graveside service.
