William L. Thomas (Shorty) was born to the late Ben Thomas and Eldora (Murphy) Thomas on October 26, 1936 in Columbus, Georgia.
William (Shorty) came to Cincinnati at an early age with his parents. He attended Cincinnati Public Schools and completed his education at Central High School. He married Barbara Watkins.
William (Shorty) was a loyal employee for the Frisch's Company for many years as head cook. He also worked at Queen City Barrels until an accident.
William (Shorty) was preceded in death by his son Michael Watkins; four sisters, Mary A. Thomas, Rose Thomas, Mary L. Thomas, and Emma Jean Thomas; two brothers, John Thomas and Roosevelt Thomas.
He leaves to mourn and cherish his memories: his wife Barbara (Watkins) Thomas; three brothers, Ben Thomas, Eddie Thomas, Ricky Ruben; three sons, William Luther, William Watkins, and Lawon Amison; five daughters, Sabrina Spivey, Yvonne Watkins, Trenea Watkins, Kimberly Amison and Janetta Amison, all from Cincinnati, Ohio. He also had three stepsons, Teddy Watkins, Ronald Watkins and Paul Watkins; one stepdaughter, Antionette Lee.
And the love of his life for the past 12 years, Ms. Daphne Stokes; 21 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
