Perhaps you sent a comforting message
or sat quietly in a chair.
Perhaps you sent a floral piece,
if so, we saw it there.
Perhaps you spoke the kindest words,
as any friend could say.
Perhaps you were not there at all,
just thought of us that day.
Whatever you did to console our hearts.
We thank you so much, whatever the part.
Daddy, God saw you getting weary,
so he did what he thought best.
He came and stood beside you
and whispered, "Come and rest."
You bade no one farewell,
nor ever said goodbye.
You were gone before we knew it,
and only God knows why.
Yet we will continue to love you
until the day we die.
~From Sandra, Lynn and our family
My soul has wings
take me to that higher place of peace
where gravity and tides have lost their stay.
Lift me up above the noise and haste of life
to realms of solitude far, far away
my soul has wings and longs to rise above
to dwell in peace with God's eternal love.
