William Vernon Walz, Jr

William V Walz, Jr, age 81, of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2022. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on May 30, 1940 to William Vernon and Stella Walz (nee Allen).

He was preceded in death by his father, mother, sons, William and Joseph Walz, two unnamed infant children, two grandsons, Michael Steele and William Meeker, and all of his siblings; Stella (late Vernon) England, Glen Walz, Robert Walz, Shirley (late Eddie) Nolan, Ethel (late Doug Sowers) Lyons and Henry Walz.

William is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Donna Walz (nee Bowling), his children, Sarah (Lloyd) Merritt, Patricia (Vince) Heideman, Debra Barrett, Karen (late Dave) Bailey, Glenn (Angela) Walz and Rochelle (Robert) Thomson. He has many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

He worked most of his life in construction and repair services in the Cincinnati area. He was known as "Handyman Joe" to everyone who knew him. William was a member of Seven Hills Rod and Gun Club in Verona, Kentucky. He enjoyed fishing , camping, watching old movies & westerns, people watching on the front porch and most importantly spending time with his family.

Visitation will be Friday, June 10, 2022 at Newcomer Funeral Home, West Side Chapel, 3300 Parkcrest Lane, Cincinnati (45211) from 5:00 PM until the funeral service at 7:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the William Walz Memorial Fund at any 5/3 Bank.
