Obituary
Mrs. Willie Mae Pitts, age 83, was called from her labor to rest, surrounded by her loved ones as she transitioned Home on Thursday, August 18, 2011at 11:00am in Drake Hospital located Cincinnati, Ohio.
She was born Willie Mae Capell on September 4, 1927, in Bourbon County, Georgia to the late George and Fronnie Capell. She later moved as a child to Montgomery, Alabama where she grew up. In February of 1947 she married Charles Pitts Sr. and from this union they were blessed with 10 children; 5 boys and 5 girls.
After moving to Cincinnati, OH in the 1950's they became members of Tabernacle Baptist Church. Then in June of 1960 Willie Mae took on her responsibility as 1st lady of First Baptist Church of Hazelwood were her husband was pastor for many years. She enjoyed cooking for her family and many others. Her specialties were BBQ, Pies, Cakes and her Famous Macaroni & Cheese. She loved her family and was always thinking of others. She will truly be forever missed.
She is preceded in death by her husband Rev. Charles Pitts Sr., daughter; Virgil L. Capell, sons; Robert C. and Roy D. Pitts, sister; Sarah Capell and granddaughter; Dewan Roberson.
She leaves to cherish her memory: three sisters: Ruth, Beatrice and Georgia Bell; two brothers: James Lee and Pete all of Montgomery, AL; four daughters, Annie Bridges, Deborah Pitts, Marilyn (Andre') Green, Cynthia Radcliff; three sons: Charles Pitts Jr., Wallace (Kim) Pitts and Willie (Deborah) Pitts; 31 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren; special friends; Dale and Jackie Smith, Randolph and Debbie Hunter, Greg Clark, Eunice Bronston, James Williams, and Glenda Gilbert, a host nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
