Willie Sneed

Willie E. Sneed, age 75 of Cincinnati passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at Mercy Hospital – Mt. Airy. He was born in Planterville, Alabama on July 26, 1936 the son of Jesse and Gussie (Peoples) Sneed. Willie was an incredibly hard working and very determined man who provided for his family and friends. He worked in construction for many years, retiring from Barrett Construction Company in January 1999 after 18 years of service. Willie accepted Christ and his Lord and Savior at an early age. He became a member of New Prospect Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Damon Lynch III. As his health began to fail him, he enjoyed watching television and spending time with his loved ones.

He leaves to cherish in his fond memories two brothers , Johnnie and Thomas; one sister, Annie Sherrer; six daughters , Helen, Francis, Pat (Eric) Stubbs, and Brenda Sneed, Linda (Bernard) Godfrey, and Glimmer Davis; five sons , Ernest (Pam), Kevin (Kimberly), and Willie Thompson, Frederick (Joann) Henderson, and Jerry Davis; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Heddie; daughter, Minnie Sneed; two sisters, Annie and Rubby; three brothers, Howard, Jesse, and Gus.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, July 27, 2012 at 12:00 noon at the New Prospect Baptist Church, 1829 Elm Street, Cincinnati, Ohio 45210 with Rev. Damon Lynch III officiating. Burial will follow in Walnut Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 11:00 AM until time of service at 12:00 noon.
