Obituary
On Wednesday, November 23, 2011 Willie Wee Dean was called home by the Lord, his work on his earthly home was finished. No more cancer, no more diabetes, and no more aches and pain.
Willie Wee Dean was born February 6, 1926 in Siluria, Alabama along with his twin sister Willa to the late Mack Dean and Mary Ann Smith Dean. They were the last of seven children, Willa, Mary Francis, Vonett "Slim", Mildred, James, and John Henry who all preceded him in death.
Willie attended White Oak grade school in Alabaster, Alabama. When he was 12 he confessed to Christ and joined Liberty Baptist Church in Alabaster, Alabama where he was baptized.
In 1943 he moved to Hazelwood and worked for the Tennessee Corporation until he followed his friends into the service. He joined the Navy in 1944 and served with the 23rd Spec NCB and 34th NCB. He served in Okinawa, Saipan and Guam. He received a Victory Medal and Asiatic Pacific Area Medal (1 star). He was Honorably Discharged in 1946.
Upon returning home from the service he married Elizabeth Rose "Betty Rose" Williams. To this marriage five children were born, Mary (Calvin Roper), Willie Jr., Phyllis, Stanley (Linda), and Jason. Elizabeth passed away on December 26, 1966.
Willie moved back to Alabama where he worked as a laborer-truck driver. He loved hunting, fishing, playing dominoes, and shooting pool. He also loved westerns, watching baseball, and Tiger Woods play golf. When his health started failing he moved back to Hazelwood in 2004 where he stayed under the care of his son Willie Jr. until his passing.
He leaves to mourn his passing ALL HIS CHILDREN and his in-laws Florence Williams, Irene Williams, Reiko Williams, Tyrone Boykin and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
