Winonia Gail "Winnie" Russ

With profound sorrow, we announce the peaceful passing of Winonia Gail Russ, affectionately known as Winnie, on Friday, April 12, 2024. Born and raised in Northern Kentucky, she was enveloped in the love of her late grandparents, Edward and Lillian Russ, shaping her into the compassionate and giving soul she became. Winnie's life was a tapestry woven with love and familial bonds, as she embraced her roles as a granddaughter, daughter, mother, grandmother, aunt, niece, and cousin.

Her journey was marked by the bittersweet loss of her father, Harold Russ, leaving an eternal ache in her heart. For 25 unwavering years, Winnie poured her soul into her work at Schwan's Global Supply Chain for 25 years, finding solace in dedication and service.

She leaves behind a shattered family, her daughter, Tiffany Gale Lyon, and her precious grandchildren: Payton James Harold Russ, Savannah Kaylynn Gale Lyon, and Sapphire Victorian Rose Lyon. The lasting impact of her absence will be a reminder of the profound bond they shared.

Winnie's departure leaves a void that cannot be filled, echoed by the memories of countless relatives who preceded her in death. Their absence weighs heavy on the hearts of those left behind, serving as a painful reminder of the fragility of life.

In addition to her immediate family, Winnie is survived by her sisters Kay Applegate (deceased). Carole Sandlin, Michelle England, and her brother, Arthur Russ, and their respective families. She left behind two remaining aunts, Emma Jean Fugate and Julia Ann Lambert, and a multitude of other family, friends and loved ones. Their grief mirrors the profound loss felt by all who were touched by Winnie's warmth and kindness.

As we bid farewell to Winnie, may we find solace in the enduring legacy of love and compassion she leaves behind. Though she may be gone from our sight, she will forever reside in the depths of our hearts. May she find eternal peace in the embrace of her loved ones who have gone before her.


Visitation will be Tuesday, April 23, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm with a service beginning at 7:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Receptions, and Funerals, 4350 Dixie Highway, Erlanger, KY 41018.
